Meet the Creators of Camp for a Cure: Alex and Erin
Meet Alex and Erin, the dynamic duo behind Camp for a Cure! With a shared passion for music, the great outdoors, and giving back to the community, they decided to create a one-of-a-kind experience that brings people together for a common cause.
Why you might ask? Unfortunately, they are no stranger to cancer and the damage it can cause. Erin lost her mum to breast cancer in 2020 after a 7 year battle. This spurred them on to take hold of the moment and live their life in the now, travelling around Australia in a caravan with their 2 kids, Bella and Toby. Their youtube Channel ‘Now or Never’ was born. Alex then lost his dad to cancer in 2021, 2 months into their trip of a lifetime. Having both experienced such devastating losses, they vowed then that if they were ever in a position to do so, they wanted to create and host an event with the sole purpose of bringing together the things they love - camping, music, mates and making a difference - to fight the disease that impacts far too many of us.
Fast forward to 2024 and Camp for a Cure was born! In its first year Camp for a Cure hosted over 500 people and raised over $25,000 which was donated to the charity Love your Sister. Completely blown away by what they achieved at this first event and absolutely overwhelmed by the support they received, they have decided to make it an annual event! Bring on 2025!
